The Borobudur sunrise is best from the Manohara hotel. The entry fee is 450k IDR per person, but it is worth every rupee. The ticket also includes a buffet breakfast and a souvenir.
The sunrise from the top of the temple oversees a huge valley though it was nothing like pictures I had seen. The sun rises early in Indonesia and you must reach the temple by 5 AM.
I got a cloudy sky on the day and the sun was seen only at 6 30 AM. It gets hot every minute after 7 AM so you must finish the temple walk quickly.
